AMBUCS is a national service organization composed of a diverse group of men & women dedicated to creating mobility and independence for people with disabilities. It is a national organization in which clubs are run by the members through elected officers and a Board of Directors.

The national headquarters in High Point, North Carolina, is managed by a salaried Executive Director and staff.

Nationally elected officers are the President, President Elect, and Vice President. The National Board includes these officers plus the Past National President, the Executive Director, and the 6 Regional Directors.

Regional Directors are elected for a 2-year term and serve on National Boards & support the District Governors in their region. District Governors, are responsible for assisting the clubs in their districts. Governors are elected at the February district board meeting, sworn in at Spring Training, and take office on June 1.

Edmond is in District 5-E of the Great Plains Region, which includes clubs in Oklahoma and Kansas. 5-E consists of four clubs in the metropolitan Oklahoma City area.  Personal Growth & Friendships.

Every member serves on a committee of his/her choice. You gain the knowledge and ability to participate in leadership opportunities in your chapter, district, region, and national organization.

As an AMBUC you will meet a cross section of people in the business and social community. It is an opportunity to make lasting friendships.

Annual Training & Conventions

1-day Regional Spring Training Conference is held to train newly elected officers. It is mandatory that all incoming officers attend.

2-day Regional Fall Convention to conduct business, hold training sessions, and have social activities.

National conventions are full of fun and fellowship. They are held in July of each year in various parts of the United States. AMBUCS' clubs receive awards for the past year, and National officers are elected.

Awards - AMBUCS clubs are evaluated on a point system which serves as a guide to being a successful club. The highest honor a club can receive is to be a Superior Club with distinction. That honor goes to a club that does everything right PLUS starts a new club.

The awards are presented. at the Regional and National conventions. Each club submits nominations at the regional convention to compete on the district level. The winners at the district level then compete at the following national convention.
